Duke Street Chapel Lending Library

The Lending Library will be open in the Hall, at coffee time after the morning service. If you are a member of the fellowship (a church member or you regularly worship with us), why not come along ... browse ... select a good book ... borrow it ... and read it ? (then return it, please!)

What’s available? We are grateful to a few people who have donated books to form the start-up stock of the library, but we would still appreciate more! The full catalogue can be browsed by clicking here and will be available in the Hall when the Library is open. As more books are donated, the list will be updated on a regular basis.

If you can’t be with us on a Sunday morning — or the book is already lent out to someone else — you can reserve a book from the catalogue page, where you can also find a book review for the Book of the Month or and books so chosen in previous months. Alternatively, you can reserve a book by phoning the office during opening hours. Reserved books can be collected on Sundays or, by arrangement, from the office on Tuesday or Friday mornings.

Have you read a good Christian book that impressed you enough to make you want to recommend it to us all? If so, will you write a review for us, so that we can feature it as “Book of the Month”? It doesn’t have to be already in the DSC Lending Library — if it’s good enough for you to recommend it, and no-one gives the Library a copy, we’ll buy one! Do have a go at writing a review — it will get boring if the “Book of the Month” article is always in the same style and is signed with the same initials!

Enquiries, suggestions — and of course, books! — to Roger Humphreys, please!
